Tensile Testing

The Zwick Universal testing instrument is used to measure the mechanical properties of solid materials. These properties include tensile, flexural and compressive properties, etc. The Zwick incorporates highly sensitive load cells with capacity of 20 kN to measure the load applied to a specimen. The extensometer and crosshead travel monitor measure deformation precisely in a wide range.

Example

The Zwick was used by a customer to test the tensile properties of polymer blends. Improvements in tensile properties were used as an indicator to evaluate the efficacy of various compatibilizers.
