Molecular Characterization
Impact Analytical's molecular characterization laboratory includes techniques that provide information regarding the identification or characterization of chemical functional groups or components in a material. This information, coupled with Impact Analytical’s collective 300+ years of experience, allows us to solve highly technical customer problems. These problems include unknown identification, deformulation (reverse engineering), color-body identification and chemical structure elucidation.
Impact Analytical utilizes infrared spectroscopy (IR), chromatography combined with mass spectrometry (GC-MS and LC-MS), direct probe mass spectrometry (both EI and CI), matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to identify polymers, contaminant residues, unknowns, polymer additives and research molecules.
